sqdm scrim

I was having a chat with AES and we are looking at setting up a sqdm scrim with 4 different clans taking part, RK vs AES vs ? vs ?

Im hoping you guys wanna get in on it as it will be fun....

also maybe genesis,this match will take place without rockets of course (stuffs up gen)

And yeah bubba - no one hear will be carrying on regarding past history with Genesis. Not if they want to remain in the clan that is.

ok so the date will be Sunday the 29th of august, at 7pm Eastern Standard time.

Clans involved will be

Ruthless Killers (RK)
Australian Elite Shooters (AES)
Genesis (Gen)
Jokers (JKS)

Date: Sunday 29th August

Weapons: 1 Sniper per Team (if you wish to use 1)
No Rockets/40mm (smoke & 40mm Shotgun fine)
our auto rocket kick will be functioning, if a player is kicked due to the use of a Rocket or 40mm they cannot re join and the team must work with 3 players.


TANKS are OFF

so be warned the game will be closely watched by the use of procon, and any team found trying to cheat this will be DQ


This will be updated once i know how the heads from each clan wish to work the maps

also seeing as there are 4 clans competing i think the easiest way to do the map will be 1 round to 100 kills.

anymore rounds and you end up with possible draws

is this ok with you??

My only concern is with no rockets and 1 sniper how do you deal with a tank? you either rely on that one sniper to carry c4 to destroy the tank or limit the assault player to his choice of weapons.


Can I suggest no tanks? (we have them disabled in our sqdm server)

yea we have no tanks on our server also they will be off

evil how do you wish to vote as gen and aes don't particularly care there saying its on our server we choose, but if you and me wish to sort out a map we feel is best im happy to do that

Hey bubba. If I can weigh into this debate:

I dont really mind which map. Except I'd rather not have it be Laguna Presa (the jungle map). Its just too suited for camping in a tree and not moving the entire round.

If I had any choice in the matter, Id pick something that encourages players to move around but isnt ridiculously open either. Something like White Pass or Isla Innocentes.

But really Im fine with you choosing the map mate.

No probs mate. White pass is good. Tree section, buildings for cover too. Open areas for movement as well.
It encourages movement, while also allowing guys to sit in a spot if they want to, and not stick out like the proverbial dogs bollocks.

Arica Harbour is good too. Its got building cover and open areas as well. My one opposition to it is that it tends to promote camping a little bit too much. Fortunately you are limiting the use of snipers - because it can become a real sniper fest if allowed to go unchecked.

Personally if I was biased Id have to recommend Isla inoccentes. Its an up close and personal map, but has both forested sections at the top, building cover in the middle, and open areas at the bottom of the hill. It lets you sit and hid, or run about like a mad man.

But yeah bubba. Talk to your mob of boys. In the end we will be happy to play anywhere you choose.

So just a few little things to update you on:

There will be a load in delay of 60 secs, just in case ppl cant load or problems etc.

Respawn time of 15 secs


Friendly Fire will be on

i would also like all teams to tell there players to not use the in game text chat system except for clan admins if a problem should arise

Bubba - that all sounds fine mate. Ive got no worries with not using ingame text to chat as we'll all be using TS anyway.


I only have one point Id like to mention: The password.


By all means try and make it a passworded server. However in the few scrims we've done we've had major issues with getting the server to work comfortably and not crash , while having a password in place.


All im saying is - if needs be, leave off the password and just make it unranked, booting anyone that mistakenly enters (until all 16 of us are there).

I know its not how any of us would like to set up a scrim server, but it might be necessary if the server has a coronary over passwords.
