New clan but the same old derail

well got sick of all the problems and crap so I'm reinstalling XP for now. Hate doing reinstalls, they are time consuming and you always forget to save that special bit of porn

Fresh start will hopefully fix all the gremlins

PC upgrade will have to wait for now because of other commitments unfortueatly

as im too lazy to read the 8 pages of posts, ill just add my thoughts to the end here

what this looks like to me is a Dirext X 9 issue... i get it aswell, just no where near as bad, houses just go black and i can see throu broken walls i guess its the same thing when you jump into a MG and only see black... to fix it your gonna need Vista / Win7 for DX10.1 or w/e, and if your looking at a new comp tank a look at this

things to upgrade on would be ram 6gb (if you got a 64bit OS) and maybe the next mobo up... only after i got this one that i realised the M on the end stands for Mini...

Thats my setup and runs medium well over 75frames, it runs it on high with a few lag spikes thou, but for the money its the best i could find

I run mine on medium and get 120+ High makes no noticable difference to me so why use it?

For me, low and medium don't look any different either .

trees have leaves from ages away and shadows are crisp as, then high make no differance except those lag spikes i got =/

Well remember how I said I had issues with the "new build"? (Now 1 year and 1 week old).

Hey -you all know me as a man of action right? I got right onto it tonight and fixed up every problem Ive ever had with this build.

Good to know I never put anything off hey guys...... cause you know, if I were a clan admin or in charge of ladder scrims or something, stuff me, you lot would be in REAL trouble.






So here's the final low-down. All the issues Ive had with this thing have been because of one main bug bear: A dodgy stick of OCZ Ram. The 3rd stick in my 6Gb set up. All the crashes, all the root a-rounds, all the problems. RAM. And now they basically are telling me that it would have been faulty since the day I installed it and made the posts on the previous page, over a year ago.

Dont get me wrong. There were other things stuffing up too. XP still on an old HDD clashing with Win7. An intermittently faulty DVD-ROM that would slow down my whole PC. But they were spotted and fixed 10 or 11 months ago.

Every fortnight, or once a week Id get a blue screen or a crash and restart. This RAM stuff has been an on and off headache that never ended. ..... UNTIL TONIGHT!!!!!


I installed new RAM, new video drivers, new DVI cable and deleted some freakin monitoring program that my ASUS MoBo installed (also a year ago) which was causing half my games to black screen when played. Games like fallout3 and Bioshock and things like that which just never seemed to work and I couldnt figure out why.

Ive also got an OC of my CPU (2.7MHz up to 3.2) and a small OC of my GPU (750Mhz up to 820).

All stable and stress tested and no blue scr..... OH SHIT!

So I reckon Im all set to run smoother and more hassle free that I have before. Tonight when I game, it will be my first true hit out on BC2 with a $2000 PC behaving how it was intended to.

Well I'm had enough of the duel core lag crap I have now and thanks to Zoomie he's been kind enough to help me out in trying to put together a new PC for about $1000 - $1200




I have to add Win7, 64 bit necessary as I read if you want to run >4g ram you need 64bit?

I think cooling would be a must as I'd like to get into the overclockers club as well and I've heard H2O cooling the way to go

and I need a HD as well

Do you think 4g rams enough? My thoughts are the more the better?

If you are using the pc mainly for gaming and not to store alot of crap on maybe go for a 60 gig SSD for around $150 but
what you have chosen will run fine.

64 bit win7 is the way to go aswell.

ATI 6970 maybe. But you need to make sure your PSU can handle the load. Also if your CPU isn't up to it it could be overkill and you will not get all the power out of your GPU and you will be bound by your CPU

not sure what to do next

I get in game and play for about 10 min then the pc freezes and now I get a blue screen
The pc runs fine untill i load BF and play


I have updated graphics drivers
I have updated windows
D/L after burner and run it 100% fan
D/L Core temp but cores seems to be fine.


Is there any log that i can veiw that may shed some light on this?
