need an anti virus

can someone suggest a few good free anti virus programs for me need some to counter all the bullshit that gets sent to me....and the fact the i watch a lot of porn no that the misses is gone for a 1 yr so that means im practicing celibacy...have pity on me and give me a f$%king program that will let me d/l and get my groove on. lol

I'm with Chooky. AVG was my pick, but I have had 4 different people bring me their machines to fix becasue AVG let something through.

Avast is good & less resource hungry.

I've used AVG for as long as i can remember but think it might be time for a change since I've had a few issues over the last 12months.
I'll give Avast a go on the kids computer.

Chook and Dyrty, what anti-virus software do you run on your home systems?

I was running Avast but had a problem and decided to try AVG I will go back to Avast soon because it looks like a better written program and gives me the impression that it is less resource hungry. They are both good in my book. Avast just that bit better.

Okay thanks Chook, if you were using a full version of something that required $'s I was going to consider that for my game PC.

AVG has been good for me for the last 5 years .

At work we use one which I cant remember but generally we always install malware bytes as a scanner.

I can personally recommend this.
My brother had a particularly bad virus and could not open any word, excell or basically anything, could not even go to safe mode.

Tried all sorts and nothing fixed it.

Installed malware bytes and when it found viruses, then rebooted and fixed heaps.

Some functions were not great still but we could retrieve the files and then format.
Best of all, ITS FREE!!!!

+1 for Malwarebytes I install and scan every computer I work on with it.

we use Trend (PCCillin) at work & it works very well. Home version is just as good, but the interface is ordinary.

At home I use AVG on this PC, but am moving to Avast when I next rebuild (soon).

If you do use Avast, keep your cracks (if you have any) in a folder that is not scanned or they will be terminated - or so I hear...

i just use the free avg.

i use eset 64 with eset login viewer to get free keys

A good, last resort remover is ComboFix.
It's not a active scanner, but if you got shit on your computer, it's the best at getting rid of it.
It runs in command prompt and goes through a list of virus and see if it can find them and removes them by using existing scanners like AVG or Malwarebytes.

I've always used AVG but now I'll take a look at Avast...
Malwarebytes is good too, removes a lot of shit.

I've got AVG, Malwarebytes and even Adaware installed but I don't think I've gotten any virus's for ages...
Should do a scan one of these days just in case to check for something minor even...

Anyone tried Avast? What did you think?

We used to have it at my old work and seemed ok.

Never got any nasty things that made it through.

Avira is a very good free anti-virus, pretty much detects all viruses, even my mates custom made keylogger. Hah. took the smile of his face.
