Does anyone have any tattoos?


I've been thinking of getting one of a Chinese Dragon as it's the year of my birth.




I want the head to start half way down my right arm (so a T-shirt covers it) going up over my shoulder with the claws on my shoulder looknig like they are digging in to it, and the tail coming half way down my back.

I went to see a tattooist and he said 2, 4 hour sessions and $1200.

Really expensive and obviously quite painful but are they worth it? I have a couple of friends that have a load of tatt's and they love 'em but I"m not sure.

No ink here. you could always go to Thailand and get it done on the cheap.
But you will get it done in 4 hours with two guys working on you and you will be like

Second skin was were I got the quote from they've been around for 20 years or something.

i had a few before thailand and got three more while over there, its heaps cheaper and they are clean and definately do the best dragon tats iv ever seen. me and the guys are going back at the end of the year and im gettin about 4 days straight worth of ink done next trip. cant wait.


i love tatts, tribal and dragons are my fav, but if your gettin a dragon see if he has some dragon work he has done before to show you first. so guys just cant tattoo dragons for shit

yeh second skin has been around for a while but they are expensive go to a place near stockys i cant remember the name of it but i think its on anne st at the lights where the bp servo is on ross river rd.....but turn right into that street where the bp is and look on the right hand side u come to a set of lights it there somewhere ask for the guy who done rabbits tatts hell know who ur talking about tell him gino from the army sent ya and to look after ya

ahh i beleive i had them off, but they are shit fun on. Going around tight corners down hills and trying to stay on the bike is great fun when only your front and what ever side wheel is the only ones on the ground yes i talk from experience

Bro if you want to get tattoos make sure it has meaning and is something you really want!!!!

It can't hurt to wait a yer or so and see if you still feeel the same ! And 12 hundred is not that expensive for a piece that big.. and you want to make sure its done right and the artist is well paid .. notihing worse than a spitefull tattoist rushing a job!!
Fuck if i got tattoos when i wanted em i would be covered in all sorts of stupid shit!!
while alot of my mates are covered in em and love em .. a few have also had cover jobs on some which they regret getting...
anyways if you want to talk about expensive i have a picture of my little girl on me and it cost 3.5K!
but having said that it was done by Tony Ranger who apprenticed from paul branniff and both these guys are rated as the best tattoist in australia !! my best mate chad or moose is a tattooist who is apprenticed under Ranger so if you want it done at mates rates and you still feel the same in a little while wait till you come down here and see him he should do it for like 8 hundred.. as i said above good tatts don't come cheap!!!


just make sure its something special to you that you love looking at and feel a special connection with !! and if you want to get it done cheap.. most tattoosi t will do it for free ..or alot cheaper if you let them color in the bottom of you foot!! i always have a mate say that to me so check into seeing if that is legit... i like the pain from tatts its like having a pimple popped for a few hours that getts rally hot feeling.. and if your getting it done on your arm the underside of your arm is so fucken painfull god damn...

Hey guys, (yay first post)

lol some of you guys are in the ville huh? i was in that place for 5 years with army before finishing up and coming back to melbourne.

i have a whole back piece done and after about 23.5 hours its finished. i got it done in canada at a place where i had to wait 4 months for the artist to draw it up a few times.

i got a lot of army buddies who have had work done at both second skin and silver city or what ever it is up there in towntown, and to be honest i didnt like the work done by the artists up there, BUT what it coms down to isnt really a factor if the artist is good or bad but more to the point, its that if what you are having drawn up is of the artists' background and interest.

some artists specialise in celtic design and japanese literature and art work, like the water fish and samuri and stuff liek that, where as others do potraits and pictures re drawn from books or posters.

your best bet is to fork out the 100 odd bucks after u find someone who draws in your field, and sit down with the artists u talk to and have them draw something up, but take heed, a silver tongue and a quick sketch is usually enough to sell most people down the river, and at the end of the day every tattoo artist is a salesmen so they are going to try to get you started with them.

take my advice, go around towntown and speak to as many people as you can rocka, ask them if they have done much chinese dragon work or are they interested in japanese mythology and stuff like that and if they say oh yeah heaps, dont take there word for it, ask THEM FOR PICTURES of completed tattoo`s! and then go to the next place and ask the same, u can always see a true artists talent from the work they have done.
