Battlefield 3 System Requirements

Battlefield 3 is expected to have similar system requirements as the previous Battlefield game, Bad Company 2. Battlefiled 3 is powered by the Frostbite 2.0 engine, which is based on the previous Frostbite 1.5, which powered Bad Company 2.

While the Frostbite 2.0 engine has a lot of new features compared to 1.5, it is also more optimized as well, which will most likely result in similar performance and Battlefield 3 system requirements for the PC. Since Battlefield 3 won’t be supporting DirecX 9, it won’t run on Windows XP.

Processor: Core 2 Duo @ 2.0GHz
RAM: 2GB
Graphic card: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible Nvidia or AMD ATI card.
Graphics card memory: 512 MB
Hard drive: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version

I can manage the minimum settings... not recommended though. Might see how we go before I splash out for a new rig.

I am with Mettie on this one.

Very dissapointed that the minimum requirements are so low. This means
that you will beable to reduce the graphics quality somewhat to get the game
running on low spec rigs. But could give you an advantage if alot of things dont
render.

I would have liked to see a more even playing field. Knowing that players
have found you legit and not lowering their graphics settings so they can
see you through a wall or behind a rock!

It would be nice to know that what I see on my screen is the same as what
every other player sees on theirs, BF3 fail on this one.

X-ume, unfortunately that is a problem faced by most computer games, however I believe the advantages of PC Gaming outweigh the disadvantages completely.

I will have to build a second computer for this game but I've been wanting to do that for a while so this will just be an excuse.

I really want to build a new one but have no idea where I'd put it or how I'd afford it.

LeRawn, im building one that will beat those recommended specs for $900.

Please share details.

They had to dumb it down so it would run on consoles.

well it looks like i wont be playing bf3 for a while, need to upgrade to reach even the minimum specs.

Consoles ruin everything for PC gamers. Fuck consoles.

i running windows xp on dual core pent 4 with 3 gig ram and nvidia 9800gtx/gtx+ card and e7300 at 2.66 motherboard dont have any issues with any other games will i be able to play bf3 with this setup anyone

well guys youll be happy to know im building a new rig before bf3 comes out so guess what ill be selling off my older parts they include

gigabyte 480gtx with ek waterblock


i5 750

evga p55 sli mobo

knigston hyperx T1 4g ram

Ill let you know when i get the upgrades and how much ill sell these parts off for but if its for a JKS member of forum user ill make it cheep for you

The only catch is the GFX card requires water cooling as i have no air cooling (YUK) i threw it in the bin

Just on a side note MIC has a ATI 5970 (MASSIVE MOFO OF A GFX CARD) dual gpu gfx witch will run just about anything maxed out its in my hot lil hands ATM he wants to sell it so hit me up!!!

i have $2500 i want to blow on a really really great rig, i want to buy around the time BF3 comes out so everything is a bit cheaper, what can i get for $2500? =o

i've been saving all my milk money for this.

No probs marine, 2500 is heaps for a rig, around the $1500 - $1800 will
build you an awsome gaming rig now days.

Wait till BF3 comes out and I am sure afew of the boys will give you
some sound advice.

lol not to mention program installs file tranferes just any and everything to do with a HD SSDs out perform any mechanical grandpa HD
