Clan Rules Empty
PostSubject: Clan Rules   Clan Rules I_icon_minitimeWed Mar 23, 2011 2:49 pm

These are the same as our Server Rules (please read in full), but apply to ALL the servers you play on.

NO HACKING The use of third party software to improve your game play is strictly forbidden.

NO GLITCHING Using the poor programing of a game to gain an advantage over others is strictly forbidden.

NO MACROS The use of macro's is low, if you can't do something without resorting to using a keyboard to press buttons for you then stop being lazy and LEARN!

NO STAT PADDING - Unfortunately, BC2 allows for a number of ways to "boost" your points and your stats. When playing alone or with a friend on either side, gaining points for yourself via any means other than proper game play is strictly forbidden.

BF3 SPECIFIC
NO CAMPING THE ENEMY BASE Firing into the spawn at any time (whether all flags are capped or not), with any weapon or vehicle is never an acceptable tactic. This includes firing in with mortars, by sniping, strafing with jets/choppers, or any tactic you can describe. Once all the flags are capped pushing an enemy back into their base is fine. It is part of the game and the overall goal for you to quickly finish and win the round. However killing enemy the second they spawn is not in keeping with our JKS rules of fair play.

NO POINT WHORING - By this we mean choosing to place yourself or armour away from critical areas of attack or defence, for the sole purpose of gaining cheap points and easy kills. (ie: camping the edge of the map with a squad spawn beacon and a sniper rifle. It takes a spawn point away from your squad, and they lose 1/4 of their fighting ability without you assisting them). To do this while your team mates suffer for lack of support goes against the very idea of clan squad work and our fair play policy.

DO NOT STEAL ENEMY ASSETS - Each side is granted a certain allotment of vehicles per map and per mode. While we have no problem with stealing an abandoned vehicle - where applicable we do not condone pushing into the enemy base for the sole purpose of stealing available assets. Therein lies the distinction. Also see "NO CAMPING THE ENEMY BASE"

DO NOT SPAM OVER-POWERED WEAPONS - Certainly play your own game, your own way. Work as a team to achieve objectives or even play lone wolf for a while if you wish. But while playing, don't spam over powered weapons on infantry or buildings. A few examples (the most important first):
  • Anti-Tank rockets, as their name implies are designed for use on armour. Never intentionally use them on infantry targets, and never use them as a substitute primary weapon. Sometimes with the destructible nature of the game there are times when putting a rocket into a building is necessary. However this should always be an absolute last resort, not a first option.
  • Dont play an entire match by simply launching mortars from 1/2 a map behind the action.
  • The Infa-red Night Vision scopes (IRNV Scope): While it is a part of the game, many veteran gamers see this scope as little more than an over powered gimmick to allow less talented players (and console users) get a leg up against the competition.
  • The same can be said for the tactical light. These items (tac light / IRNV) are being banned from many official tournaments and ladders around the globe. Once again - over powered gimmicks that perform unrealistically in game and give unfair advantage. Use the attachments as you please - but dont over use them against your clan mates to get cheap and easy kills.
All of these can be seen as cheap tactics and not in keeping with our fair play mindset. If you wouldnt want to die that way, dont kill in the same manner.

BC2 SPECIFIC
NO CAMPING THE ENEMY BASE Varying per game mode.
For conquest: Pushing an enemy back into their base where possible, is fine. Camping and killing them the second they spawn, is not.
For Rush (While Attacking): The enemy base cant be truly "camped" per se - as their base is actually your objective. But holding off while inside the defenders spawn/ base and not arming the M-COM stations, just to gain cheap kills - isnt in keeping with the spirit of the game.
For Rush (While Defending): As defenders we do not mind if you push forward into an attackers base. If your base has been overrun and you are left behind you are free to kill the enemy in their spawn. While sometimes controversial - the game play has been designed so that it is the enemies job to force you backwards, you should not have to retreat unless it is necessary. However to push up into an enemy base and remain there at a stage when your own base is under attack is selfish tactics and not playing for the benefit of your team.

NO POINT WHORING - By this we mean choosing to place yourself or armour away from critical areas of attack or defence, for the sole purpose of gaining cheap points and easy kills. To do this while your team mates suffer for lack of support goes against the very idea of clan squad work and our fair play policy.

DO NOT SPAM OVER-POWERED WEAPONS - Certainly play your own game, your own way. Work as a team to achieve objectives or even play lone wolf for a while if you wish. But while playing, don't spam over powered weapons on infantry or buildings. For example: Dont play an entire match by simply launching 40mm grenades at everything you see. And Anti-Tank rockets, as their name implies are designed for use on armour. Never use them as a substitute primary weapon, and never intentionally use them on infantry targets. Its seen as cheap tactics and not in keeping with our fair play mindset. If you wouldnt want to die that way, dont kill in the same manner.

JKS CLAN APPLICANTS
We require you to have read these clan rules in full, and understand them completely. This section here is to ensure that you have infact done this, and not simply glanced over them or neglected to read them entirely. If you are a JKS clan applicant, when filling out your application - as the last thing you write on that application please include the sentence:
"I agree to follow the *=JKS=* Clan Rules in full"
If we do not see this at the bottom of your application, we can only conclude that you have NOT read the rules above in full - and as such we will not approve your request to join JKS.

Please note
Signing up on the forum or putting in an application DOES NOT entitle you to wear *=JKS=* clan tags. Those applicants that are successful will be informed as to when they are allowed to add clan tags to their ingame soldier.
