Hi Hal
Thank you for your enquiry.
As you are on a RIM, you are only eligible to receive ADSL8000.
However as you are in zone 1, you are eligible for our Performance (Premium)
Metro ADSL8000 services, which are at the same charges as Metro ADSL2+.
I understand that the pricing structure on our website is not very clear at the
moment and we apologise for that.
We have a new, updated and more informative website which is currently
undergoing testing and will replace the current site within the next two weeks.
I can assist you in running latency tests from our network so that you can
compare it with your current provider.
We are unable to control the latency of third party capacity (ie. the Telstra
DSL network), but we do maintain guarantees and strict guidelines with regards
to latency on our IP network, from the point Telstra hands the data off to us.
For domestic connectivity (within Australia), it would probably not be much of
a difference.
However our IP network is built for gaming and latency sensitive applications,
and we do have our own international submarine cable capacity to the US and we
do have superior international connectivity compared to the majority of
Australian providers.
If you choose the Metro ADSL2+/ADSL8000 100GB service for $64.95 (this will be
increased to $69.95 on our new website, but we will maintain the offer of
$64.95 to you), the transfer charge of $39.95 will be applicable.
You will also need to maintain your current land line and the associated call
charges. We will be offering a bundle solution soon but it is purely for the
convenience of receiving a single bill.
We currently do not offer smaller plans than 100GB as these are geared towards
higher end users, but the monthly charge at $64.95 is considerably lower than
what you originally thought you were eligible for.
The charges of our Performance (Premium) Broadband Regional ADSL2+/ADSL8000
services has also been reduced and these will be reflected on our new website.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if you need me to perform any
ping/traceroute tests for you.
Thank you.
