JOKERS GAMING REQUIREMENTS

We only ask a few main requirements of our applicants:
  • Firstly JKS is a community aimed at catering to mature gamers, so please be aware that we have a minimum age requirement of 18 years of age. And while we do treat each application on a case-by-case basis, unfortunately we will normally not accept applicants who are under our minimum age limit, or who are under the minimum age restrictions set for the game.

  • Also make sure that you have read our Jokers Gaming Rules below and that you understand them completely. They are in place to ensure fair play from our members. We are committed to these ideals and playing in a style that you would happily play against. While always having a good time, we want to stress the ideas of fair play and team work as being our highest concern here at Jokers.

  • Our real world requirement - we ask that you own and regularly use a microphone. This is to ensure Jokers Gaming retains a friendly atmosphere for our members, a close group of gamers that communicate well when playing.

  • And one last common sense thing - we ask that you always treat your fellow Jokers members with the respect that they deserve. We are a mature group of friends, and everyone likes to make the most of their gaming experience within the community. Respect all your fellow members, regardless of how long they have been in the group, or what position they hold.

JOKERS GAMING RULES

BF3 SPECIFIC
Our clan rules can be separated into two distinct categories:
  • Game rules - regarding cheating, illegal actions and breaches of the games' End User Licence Agreement (EULA).
  • Social rules - relating to respect and fair conduct amongst clan members and the wider gaming community.

Break any Game rule and you will immediately be removed from the clan. Break any Social rule and you will be warned, with repeat offenders being asked to leave the clan as well.

GAME RULES
NO HACKING The use of third party software to improve your game play is strictly forbidden.

NO GLITCHING Using the poor programming of a game to gain an advantage over others is strictly forbidden.

NO MACROS The use of macro's is low, if you can't do something without resorting to using a keyboard to press buttons for you then stop being lazy and LEARN!

NO STAT PADDING - Unfortunately, BF3 allows for a number of ways to "boost" your points and your stats. When playing alone or with a friend on either side, gaining points for yourself via any means other than proper game play is strictly forbidden.

SOCIAL RULES
NO CAMPING THE ENEMY BASE Firing into the spawn at any time (whether all flags are capped or not), with any weapon or vehicle is never an acceptable tactic. This includes firing in with mortars, by sniping, strafing with jets/choppers, or any tactic you can describe. Once all the flags are capped pushing an enemy back into their base is fine. It is part of the game and the overall goal for you to quickly finish and win the round. However killing enemy the second they spawn is not in keeping with our JKS rules of fair play.

NO POINT WHORING - By this we mean choosing to place yourself or armour away from critical areas of attack or defence, for the sole purpose of gaining cheap points and easy kills. (ie: camping the edge of the map with a squad spawn beacon and a sniper rifle. It takes a spawn point away from your squad, and they lose 1/4 of their fighting ability without you assisting them). To do this while your team mates suffer for lack of support goes against the very idea of clan squad work and our fair play policy.

DO NOT STEAL ENEMY ASSETS - Each side is granted a certain allotment of vehicles per map and per mode. While we have no problem with stealing an abandoned vehicle - where applicable we do not condone pushing into the enemy base for the sole purpose of stealing available assets. Therein lies the distinction. Also see "NO CAMPING THE ENEMY BASE"

DO NOT SPAM OVER-POWERED WEAPONS - Certainly play your own game, your own way. Work as a team to achieve objectives or even play lone wolf for a while if you wish. But while playing, don't spam over powered weapons on infantry or buildings. A few examples (the most important first):
  • Anti-Tank rockets, as their name implies are designed for use on armour. Never intentionally use them on infantry targets, and never use them as a substitute primary weapon. Sometimes with the destructible nature of the game there are times when putting a rocket into a building is necessary. However this should always be an absolute last resort, not a first option.
  • Dont play an entire match by simply launching mortars from 1/2 a map behind the action.
  • The Infa-red Night Vision scopes (IRNV Scope): While it is a part of the game, many veteran gamers see this scope as little more than an over powered gimmick to allow less talented players (and console users) get a leg up against the competition.
  • The same can be said for the tactical light. These items (tac light / IRNV) are banned from many official tournaments and ladders around the globe. Once again - over powered gimmicks that perform unrealistically in game and give unfair advantage. Use the attachments as you please - but dont over use them against your clan mates to get cheap and easy kills.
All of these can be seen as cheap tactics and not in keeping with our fair play mindset. If you wouldnt want to die that way, dont kill in the same manner.

STAR WARS SPECIFIC
Our guild rules can be separated into two distinct categories:
  • Game rules - regarding cheating, illegal actions and breaches of the games' End User Licence Agreement (EULA).
  • Social rules - relating to respect and fair conduct amongst guild members and the wider gaming community.

Break any Game rule and you will immediately be removed from the guild. Break any Social rules and you will be warned, with repeat offenders being asked to leave the guild as well.

GAME RULES
NO HACKING - The use of third party software to improve your game play is strictly forbidden.

NO MACROS OR ADD ONS - The use of illegal macros or add ons that are not supported by BIOWARE are not to be used.

NO BUYING CREDITS - As a guild we deem buying credits as wrong and unfair, likewise the EULA strictly forbids paying real life currency for in game items. Just like in real life: earn it legitimately, or not at all.

SOCIAL RULES
GUILD TROLLING - Going out of your way to begin arguments, disrespect other guild members, or cause conflict within the guild. None of these actions will be tolerated. Warnings and removal from the guild for serial pests will apply.

CHAT TROLLING - We can all appreciate a joke as long as it isnt taken too far. However, be mindful of what you type into the global chat box. If it is deemed abusive, racist, offensive or seen to be in any way damaging to the reputation of the guild and its members then you may find your own membership being revoked.
Likewise, chat trolling internally to the Jokers guild isnt frowned upon to a degree, as long as it doesnt turn into GUILD TROLLING.

NINJA LOOTING - It should go without saying that decency and respect should be shown to your fellow guild members at all times. Taking or "needing" items in game, for the sole purpose of later sale, and personal gain will not be tolerated. Where ever possible, items which a group of members have earned should be given to the members who require them.

RAIDING/PVP - If you are given a spot in a raid team or PVP team please make sure you have the free time available to attend. If you are unable to be part of the team, please advise whoever is organising the event as soon as you can. Constantly missing or not attending raids/ PVP's which you have committed yourself to, will likewise result in your potential removal from the guild.

JOKERS GAMING APPLICANTS
We require you to have read these rules in full, and understand them completely. This section here is to ensure that you have in fact done this, and not simply glanced over them or neglected to read them entirely. If you are a Jokers gaming applicant, when filling out your application - as the last thing you write on that application please include the sentence: "I agree to follow the JOKERS Gaming Rules in full"

If we do not see this at the bottom of your application, we can only conclude that you have NOT read the rules above in full - and as such we will not approve your request to join JOKERS.

Also, please note that signing up to the forum or putting in an application DOES NOT entitle you to wear JOKERS tags. Those applicants that are successful will be informed by admin when they are allowed to add their tags.
