If you have a thomson router then you most likely get random disconnections while playing BC2, to fix this you need to disable UPnp in your routers settings.

If you know how to access your routers interface then find that option usually under "Game & Application Sharing" or something similar and will vary depending on the model of router you have.

Don't know how to access router?

First you need the routers gateway which can be found by using command prompt

  • Click Start Then Run
  • type cmd Then OK

If run is not in your start menu hold the windows key and press the R key

When the console window opens type: ipconfig /all

Under Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection: look for Default Gateway and enter this ip address into your web browsers address box.

Then go in and disable UPnp and enjoy not getting kicked!

Good luck!

I have a billion router and disabled UPnp, see what happens. Any modem
that telsrta supplied me (2wire, thompson) decided that I didn't need an internet
connection after 8pm. A quick email to telstra would fix this problem but would
only last for afew weeks.

I might plug the thompson router back in and give it ago.

hey Guys Moo and myself would have this problem all the time but after changing this setting i have never had that 15 min conection drop out.
if you click here http://192.168.1.254/cgi/b/games/ov/?be=0&l0=3&l1=4
then click on configure and then untick the upnp boxe and click apply it will stop it from happening the only problem i have found that if you play modern warfare for some reason it needs it ticked hope this helps

mate i am going to try this right now, as some of the boys know i drop out fairly regularly.
i have a Thompson gateway router, Ive called telstra millions of times just to get some nuffy on the other end tell me it should be working fine, WELL NO SHIT IT SHOULD BE WORKING FINE, IM PAYING $100 A MONTH FOR IT.

even if this doesn't work it is still more informative than any telstra response.

thank you

the disable UPnp setting was used for many different routers to stop dropouts in bfbc2, thompsons were not the only ones to have the problem.
